Telesto trio

The Telesto Trio was founded in 2001 after John Addison and Tiziana Pintus discovered their shared passion for the music of Sofia Gubaidulina. The trio has since performed in various countries including Japan, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Germany, United Kingdom, Italy and The Netherlands. The Australian tour in April 2008 was a great success and Telesto was invited for the 2009 edition of the Adelaide Contemporary Music Festival. Telesto enjoys working closely with composers and has found particularly inspiring the contact with Ms. Sofia Gubaidulina. Their first CD, in honor of Ms. Gubaidulina's 75th birthday, was launched in October 2006 at the opening ceremony of the Gubaidulina Festival in Amsterdam, Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ.
After the cd’s success with acclaim from critics and public alike, Tiziana and John made the decision to extend the trio's range and repertoire by inviting accordionist Merima Kljuco to join forces with them. Merima brings with her not only her experience in contemporary music but also her love for traditional folk music and free improvisation. From Tiziana's and John's succesfull working relationship with harpsichord player Annelie de Man a new group is born: ORYX.
